    1993 stratos 264

its seems to me that I might have to much tongue weight on my rig, if someone has a similar set up,id like to know how far back on the trailer does your boat sit, the rear (pad) is about 7 in from the rear cross member of the trailer and is sitting on the bunk not even close to a bracket and the bunk is bowing down about an inch, just seems like the boat should be sitting further back on the trailer. id post pics but this sight wont let me

Thanks, I adjusted the boat back 4 in on the trailer and it rides a lot better, now I noticed my left rear stringer is rotted out I'm sure that's not easy to fix

stringer, only reason I found out is that my gas tack bracket was loose and tried to tighten it and no luck so I put a thin pick in the holes and it feels like foam in there and also did it to
the other side ad it felt solid

I'm confused...is this bracket down inside your rear compartment? or on the rear of the boat ?

Ok...I wasn't sure if I had gotten the wrong location of what you were talking about....Doesn't sound like good news to me...(squishy stringer) funny..I just re-read your other post and it makes perfect sense to me now!!..I know the exact bracket you are talking about...have you had your Stratos since new?

No bought it used 4 years ago, I've decided not to put any more money into and hope it holds tough for two more years , that's when the owner of my wallet said I can upgrade because my truck will be paid off, only fix what needs to be. I'm hoping it will hold together

I hope she does too!..I wouldn't worry a lot over it...does it list to the bad stringer side? or sit way low in the ass end in the water?...sure wish you could post pics...I've known you had a similar boat to mine for awhile but never got to see it....Don't get a chance to see the 54's or the 64's very often....

Both are nice rides....do any of ya know what the main differences are between the 254 and the 264?....ACES...did you buy yours new?...Galvanized trailer instead of painted..and I know you changed out the motor...looks like they are both the same color?

Yes. I bought mine new, ordered it with the galvanized trailer after seeing the painted ones rust out, even when used in freshwater only.

I think the difference is how long, I like mine I can get into small lakes ones with no boat ramps pretty easy.ive replaced the floor, wet sanded and buffed it since those pics and boy did it help. just throwing around if I want to dig in a little deeper on my left rear stringer that is rotted. ive checked the transom every your and it still seems to be solid.

Mine is still sitting in the garage...Got a few more things to get done before I take her out...(not to my boat)..I pumped all the old gas out a few weeks ago..Some fresh gas and a nice (not raining or windy day) and I'll be good...Only had it in the water a couple times last summer...I DO NOT intend for that to happen this year...So..Do you have any idea where the water may be getting in? ( how your stringer got soaked)

I'll guess that I got mine out twice a week last year, made it easier to go now that both of my kids are of to college. I've got no idea on the water intrusion only thing mounted on the side is the factory spedo.
