    Kerr Water Levels

Looking to see if someone has a link they can offer that shows the water levels at Kerr. Headed down again in a few weeks. Last trip down the water was low.

    Thanks

Scroll down to Roanoke river section and click on the Kerr at Boydton.

Actually it went over 300 this weekend, and has been about 298 for the last few weeks. They will prob keep it around the 300 mark for a while. People that are used to it going up to 304+ in the Spring feel like it is REALLY low right now, but its actually at normal pool

speaking of water levels, are there any places on Kerr where you could actually have a functional dock year round? I guess I'm not really sure how it works down there but I understand it must be a heck of a lot different than on Anna or SML.

If you are a non Kerr regular and wanted to fish the famous bushes what lake level do you need. And at what level do the hazards become more than hazards?

Floating docks. From 298-303 or so most are functional.

For the fish to get up in the bushes you need it to be at least 303-4 depending on area... higher is better AND it needs to be up there for at least a week or close to it... They dont immediately rush the bushes when the water goes up

As far as hazards (assuming you are talking low water) the lake is marked pretty well FOR 300 water level. There are a few unmarked shoals leaving pockets or creeks but if you dont cut anything too close to shore you should be ok. When it gets down to 298 there are some shallow areas that can jump up and get you but you are still safe for the most part, but if it gets to 297-296 you have to be careful for unmarked stuff. I use Navionics with my Lowrance and its pretty darn accurate, even unmarked hazards are fairly easy to identify and avoid.

Yes in late 80's was awesome fishing the Willows. Had to wiggle boat in the backs of the flooded coves and then maneuver the rod to cast. WAS Aweesome!

guide curve calls for 300 lake level through most of april, unless we receive a lot of rain the lake will not remain in the bushes.

I was fortunate to have fished Buggs back in the 80s. It was a magical place back then. I remember actually watching 5 lbers chase down a spinnerbait in the flooded bushes. I am headed up there in 2 weeks and I sure would love to see the water at 303 or so.

There is plenty of water in the bushes at 301.5. 303 is to much in my opinion.

I agree with this also, 303 floods too much behind the bushes. 308 was miserable last year in may
