Thank you, I do too. Saw the idea online, don't remember where.
Im going to rig up something like smalljaw has, and make up another pole. That way I can anchor front, rear or lock it down.

I bought two 8' fiberglass tree poles off of craigslist and stuck PVC T's on one end. I sharpened the other end with my grinder. I made two loops out of some rope and just tie them to a cleat and shove the pole through the loop and into the mud. I used this set up for the first time last weekend and it worked quite well. I only used one pole so I imagine two would be better.
My depth finder was showing about 4 feet and after sinking that pole into the mud there wasn't much left coming out of the water.

I have something very similar, but it attaches with a RAM Mount system instead. I just had to bolt one of the 2.25" RAM Mount base/balls into the side of my jack plate and the pole sleeve attached to that and can be removed, it's pretty handy.

I just use Nylon rope and have 2 anchors, what few times I'll anchor, fish deep water resivours and lot of coves off main lake, Mountain filled lake even coves deep troughs. So no use for any type of poles lolo. Times just raise and tie up on cleats above water when move along.. easy and cheap.. Drift In off lake TM sporadic taps for direction, on way out a few taps . saves battery juice and can fish 2 14 hr days in a row before think of charging TM Batterys and 6 gal gas, since don't go chasing all over WOT with big Motor. Oh I have in past went thru 20 gal gas and discharged the TM batterys down lolo.. in 1/2 day.. but end result is why?? just fun fishing?

I use two king pin anchors and their bow mount and transom mount. I have two 12' poles. They hold me in river current and tidal current. Even when it's windy. I don't need them all the time but when they do they flat out work.

I've been using Dig In anchors for about 4 years now and love them. Much more affordable than PP or Talons. The only draw back is if the bottom is rocky it is hard to get them to hold unless you can find a gap between the rocks. But I imagine PP have the same issue on rocks

I use 3/4" aluminum conduit. One down through the jack plate and the other is inside the trolling motor cables or a loop of rope on a cleat, depends on what I'm fishing for. I can anchor in about 7ft with a 10ft section.

How big is the boat you're planning on installing it on? I had one of those Dig in anchors on my first boat (19 foot aluminum) and i rarely used it. When I would push the pole down in a breeze it would bend and it was incredibly difficult to get it back up! Had to get on the trolling motor and push the boat backwards so it would straigten out so I could pull it back up. I'd recommend it for a smaller vessel like a john boat but I would not install one again on a full sized rig.

I just added power poles but for the past two years I’ve used a KVD spike stick and bungees on my cleats. Worked great but just took up too much of my tournament time. For different boat positions I just moved the pole to a different cleat.

I bought the Max-Gains one years ago, when they first came out. Are they as convenient as a Power Pole, no. They aren't as expensive either. Buddy that fishes with me quite a bit pins one down in the back and I pin one in the front, and it just takes a few seconds.
