    Michigan smallie fishing info

Hey all, I will be in Michigan for a family event in July. Was wondering how the smallie bite was during that time and if it would be worth the cost of hiring a guide. I would also be up for meeting one of y'all and paying for gas, dinner, your favorite cold beverage, and a tip. Never caught a smallie and would love the opportunity. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated!

Lots of great places to fish for smallies up there!! Lake Michigan and Huron of course.....Plenty of inland lakes that hold monster smallies as well.....legit 5 plus pounders should be common!

Let me stop you right there lol. Take two days off mid trip and stay in traverse city. Wife can enjoy winery tours while you fish the area. Great area and plenty to keep busy on.

Also I'm sure you'll get a ton of recommendations but I've been going to the U.P. for 20 years every August fishing and seen a lot of the area attractions. If you want any pointers let me know ill give you my 2 cents.

Chris Noffsinger is a well known guide for northern michigan as well. Traverse City would be a perfect place as there are lots of options around there.

I fished with Chris in an Open... He seemed like a good guy and he knows the lakes up there...With all the publicity I imagine he books up early so I would get ahold of him ASAP..http://www.northernadventuresfishing.com/photos.html
