    HDS 9 on Tracker 175TXW

Has anyone put HDS9's on their tracker? I'd like to see how you mounted them on the helm and bow.

    Thanks in advance!!!

I'd would really appreciate it. I have them on order now, just trying to prep for the mounting location etc.

Do yourself and run new wiring from front to the battery. Most manufacturers wiring harnesses aren't set up properly for these units. Add a dedicated fuse panel (Blue Sea 5025) under the console. This is a quote from a member here...fishfood

I also run 12 ga to the bow unit from the fuse panel. Some folks run 10ga from the battery to the panel and while that is fine I haven't found 12ga to be an issue. I get the same readings at the bow that I have at the fuse box.

Thanks Jeff, I planned on doing that anyway since my boat doesn't have a bow unit or the wiring.

What year is your 175? I haven't seen or heard of one yet that isn't prewired for the graph at the front.

This is on a 195 but your rig should be identical when it comes to this.

Console unit. 2.25" ball short arm with a cable organizer under the mount.

Bow 9" on a long arm 2.25 arm and a hds5 on a long arm 1.5" arm. I need to get some rigging to tame the cable mess. I just installed these this week.

I have the same ram mount and cable organizer on the console on my pt175 and humminbird 898. Its very solid and i like it. As far as the wiring i have 3 graphs wired to the factory fuse box one at the bow with the factory rigged harness and have zero issues with interference anything. Been that way for almost 3 years now.

Thanks guys. I have a 2016 175TXW and I don't see any wiring at the bow for a finder. I did add the 80lb Ulterra this weekend, it's awesome.

There should be wiring there. My parents have a 2016 PT175 TXW and it was there. My 2013 had it, too.
I don't always tell people where I fish, but when I do, it's a lie.

I did not look for wiring for mine. I ran a 10 gauge duplex cable from the console fuse panel and installed a small 4 circuit fuse panel and ground bus bar under the bow panel.

I haven't had any issues running my Helix 10 off of the factory 18g wire. I did run separate 14g for the 360 tho.

I don it think a new circuit is needed for a single finder. However I was going to run two and having the power up there for additional circuits in the future is worth the small cost IMO as you are running cables between the console and bow anyways.

It was under the front panel where the plug for the trolling motor is. The wires were just sitting there and it was obvious they were for a 12v accessory. They're hot. Yours might be hidden or didn't quite make it as far as ours. Try reaching through that small hole and see if you can find them. It'll save you some time and work if you can.
Sorry it took so long to answer, I'm traveling and this was my first chance to reply.

Thanks guys, I'll have to check again when the graphs come in.

Do you guys have any suggestions on mounts? I've heard bad things about RAM mounts, no offense to anyone, just want to know your opinions.
I've also been looking at http://www.balzoutllc.com/, any thoughts?

Transom, where did you mount your transducers? I'm getting mixed opinions from different sources.
