Are Bass Cats measured from bow to complete back of the boat or bow to transom?
Are Bass Cats measured from bow to complete back of the boat or bow to transom?
This is from the Coast Guard worksheet for calculating boat size:
LENGTH (L) is the horizontal distance between the outboard side of the foremost part (bow) of the hull and the outboard side of the aftermost part (stern) of the hull. It does not include bowsprits, rudders, outboard motor brackets, swim platforms that do not contain buoyant volume, and other similar fittings and attachments that are not part of the buoyant hull envelope.
I would assume BBC (as well as the other manufacturers) uses the same formula.

I would assume as well but have heard otherwise.
All boats by USCG standards are measured in overall length. Years ago (1988) BCB integrated the jack plates as standard equipment instead of offset transoms. The plates basically align with the overall length of the rub rail and this makes the lengths similar.
