    New Cranking Battery for 198

I just got a new Mercury Pro xs 225 put on it and I'm looking to get a new cranking battery as well. Wanted to see what suggestion yall might have and what CCA would be recommend for the motor. I know this might be personal preference thing but just looking for a place to start. Thanks in advance.

Interstate 27M-XHD $140. Had it for 1 year so far and it solved a problem I was having.

I has a 24M but had issues with boat not planning due to low voltage caused from not enough charge time on water. Ran short distance a lot. Corrected by the 27M. Have a 2008 198 Pro XS225 as well.

LOOK in the engine section - Don of European Motors has some great info there!

    I'm using this one https://www.batteriesplus.com/batter...1m/sli31agmdpm

-10% off the stated price + looks like a $30 mail-in rebate.... Very strong battery but it's heavy....

I was having some problems with my cranking going dead after a long day of fishing, my electronics would drain it and if I was running my aerator if would die even quicker. It was a cheaper battery though, I'll look into yalls suggestions.

I changed from the Interstate SRM27 to the SRM29 for my 250 HPDI. With the electronics, pumps and Power Poles I wanted the extra capacity. It has a little less MCA than the 27M-XHD, but more Reserve Capacity to run things.

If you need a really big dog, go to academy and get their big exide. Not cheap at $230, but you won't have any problems turning that opti over.

With engines and electronics now a days isn't a battery with at least 1000 mica pretty much the best way to go?

Tractor Supply carries Exide, may have to look in to their ability to get them.

You wouldn't want to lift this big dog anyways, it's a freaking monster! Thought I was going to snap an elbow trying to remove it when I re-sealed my boat transom.
