    us2 hds 5 gen 2 issues

Had a Fortrex 80 with US2 connected to an HDS 5 Gen 2 unit, and experienced intermittent loss of depth and temperature signal, sometimes causing the graph to display a sonar reading of 2' flatline until later correcting. Made a trolling motor upgrade recently to a Fortrex 112 US2, and it is exhibiting the same intermittent signal losses. I am wondering what the issue could be. Do I have a bad HDS unit, might I have just a loose connection somewhere, should I replace the adapter cable, could I have had 2 bad US2 transducers? Is there anything else besides four options that could be the issue? Thanks.

I will be checking the connection and maybe buying a new adapter soon to try and resolve.

What transducer do you have selected on the HDS?

There will be a list to tell the unit what kind of transducer it is. Generally you select "Generic 83/200KHz"

I am sorry. I mean that Generic is the selected ducer.
