    Trolling motor wiring/plug in

I have a 24 volt Terrova on the bow of a Ranger RT178c. The trolling motor plug in and the receiver side (power source) at the bow are failing, causing the terrova to randomly shut down. I am looking at the Deltran power connector set.

Does anyone have any experience with the reliability of the unit? Or is there something else out there that provides a a substantially secure connection, that you have expierence with?

Pleased with it so far. Best built plug that I've been able to find.

No problem. I haven't been using it long, but it sure seems like it'll hold up.

Did you have any problems with having enough space for terminals that we typically crimp on to the ends of the wiring (power source side or trolling motor side)? I can't remember what gauge of wiring is at the power source to know what size of terminal it will take to slide over the posts of the deltran...

No, the bottom side is open. The top side cover comes off with two screws. I used the yellow ring connectors on mine. There was plenty of space under there.

Ditto on the Battery Tender. Installed on my boat, fully pleased. Same design as what we use on the larger planes, just smaller.

I couldn't tell from the pic of it.... but I don't guess this would easily replace a regular round marinco plug would it? Doesn't look like it would fit the same spot from what I see, but wondering?

The mounting template is basically two holes overlapping.

They make a plate that can be used for mounting http://products.batterytender.com/Ac...kets-Flat.html

You could use that over the existing cutout if needed. The hole for the receptacle is made by drilling two 1-1/8" holes about 9/16" apart making an oval that is about 1-1/8" tall by 2-1/4" long. The receptacle has flanges, so it will cover slightly larger existing holes. This cutout is a little bigger than the smaller TM plugs.

If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
