    looks like a high % of border collie???those are one of the smartest breeds I know of, but they are also little thief's, really good at stealing your heart sorry for your families loss, and I can tell his "golden years" were a blessing to him and your family

    17.5 years is good for that size dog.All they want is to be loved,looks like he had plenty of that.

    He was a border collie/setter mix. You could really see the setter in his ears and face. As for brains, he wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, but he sure was the prettiest!

    In 2012, we lost our first border collie. We had her for 6 years prior to getting Blaze. She was his best buddy. He went in to a deep depression over the next couple days after her passing. We honestly thought we were going to lose him. 5 days later, we were driving to Ohio to adopt a buddy for him. Taylor saved him. She taught him how to play and how to be a puppy. She made him young again, at the age of 13!
