How do you get rid of armadillos.

Chipmonk thread has me looking for ideas. Noticed a big armadillo in my yard yesterday and have seen evidence of them digging in my yard. Live in a suburban neighborhood so firearms are out of the question. What do you guys recommend.

In all seriousness though. They're eating grubs. Rid your yard of "food" and they might move on. Hard to stop them little tanks otherwise without a bullet or two.

You can trap them. They can't see very well, so use some Masonite siding to make a funnel to the trap. Silly pest will walk right in.

You can trap them. You will need a sturdy trap and probably a 2 x 6 about 4 to 6 feet long. Put the trap against the house and anchor the 2 x6 at an angle in the flower bed to guide him to the trap. worms make good bait. works best when its dry and you are watering the beds.

You can pee around your property line. That's how we do it in Fl.

That would explain the high amount of "Indecent Exposure" cases in Florida then huh?

Armadillos have four babies at a time, always all the same sex. They are perfect quadruplets (the fertilized cell split into quarters, resulting in four identical armadillos). Some female armadillos who were captured for research gave birth long after being captured (up to 2 years later). These odd delayed births are a result of the female’s ability to delay the implantation of the fertilized egg during times of stress. This is a result of a reproductive tactic and is a reason why armadillos can easily populate new areas.

They also eat the hell out of ants, so if you have fire ants....
