Remember we don't know the whole story so it maybe a bad day or did something else do it. Not saying it did but bad gas or cold seize etc etc. I hate it but that's the only 2 I've heard of sure theirs more. I look at it this way is it worse for 12000 motors to have 10 go bad or 6000 have 100 go bad ?

Please let me say I'm not saying those to motors were owners faults but have seen many cold seize motors . That one sounds like a bearing failed

Two failures in how many engines? While it is bad for the guys with those engines I don't think I'd say the sky if falling just yet.

Both 2015 I wonder if a bad batch of parts were used in assembly.

Two failures is not enough to draw any conclusions.

I monitor the pontoon boat websites, and there are a bunch of 150 FourStrokes mounted on tritoons. I remember a little retired guy on Lake Lanier have a failure when the engine came out, but I cannot recall any other engine problems mentioned the last 4 years.

I'm running the F150 Yamaha, and as far as I can tell the two engines are very close in horsepower--side by side speed wise.

I have a 2015 150 Merc FourStroke with 135 hrs. It runs great and I am very happy with it.

Please see the Forum Announcements, and make sure to provide the REQUIRED info when posting. Thanks!

Since I'm pretty sure I talked with the third one on the phone back then... that would technically make 3 that I've heard of since it came out.

Sure would like to see "none"... but since a man built them, there is bound to be SOME margin of failure.

Wish I had an extra $11K sitting around. I'd have one of those on the back of my 481V. Hell, I'd recoup most of that in fuel costs at the 5 year mark considering the fuel economy I get with this Fast Strike!

My 2016 failed at 45 minutes last fall. Bottom end failure they never diagnosed just installed a new powerhead. First merc so not real impressed so far.

I think we would need to get a larger sample to even get to insignificant.

Mine blew at 61 hrs. Mercury sent two powerheads and they were both bad. Mercury did replace the whole motor in the end, so I'm happy again.
