Hickory Legend, no digital gauge or NMEA cable right now. I'm on a black face honda rpm tech 7000 rpm gauge. I think my helix 10 has digital gauge set up.

HondaRay my tech is at setting 1. I think the tech is off because sometimes my tech will fly over 7000 rpm.

You need to run a Honda NMEA cable to the console. Then connect it to Three Tees plug the cable in one, a power like me to one, and run one from the last Tee to the Graph!
the power needs to be switched!

I believe the lowrance starter kit has all but the Honda cable, and a short cable to the graph.

Update: I bough a 23p tempest plus with a 5/8 opening. All holeshot holes were plug solid. I rise my motor the highest my rite-hite 6 inches jackplate can go on this long shaft. My finding after testing this prop. I didn't get slipping like the yamaha 23p did. But my holeshot was horrible. Boat top out at 49 mph gps @5300-5400rpm. I guess a 23 pitch is just too much prop for me. I'll be selling this prop and look into a 21p. Any suggestions?

Get the engine up to 6200 rpm!
check and see how far below pad you are with the engine raised all the way up. If your not to low than yes your going to have to drop down in pitch.

Have you checked to make sure your getting wide open throttle!!

Rangers are heavy boats. Do you know the weight of your boat/engine/and gear? Might have more of an effect than you might think

Hickory Legend- I only have a 6" jackplate and at max height with the motor rise. I'm only at 5 3/4 inches below pad. I'm going to have to drop pitch on this. I'm thinking of a 20 or 21p. My current prop is a solas 4 blade 19p. I have full throttle. I made some adjustment already on the cable. I do notice that i don't like the way the 3 blade handle on this boat. My solas 4 blade runs and grips so much better.

Water pressure. i notice my water pressure is tee right before the pee hole and goes up to my console. I'm only seeing 12 psi of water pressure. I been running like this for the pass 3 year. i read online that the water pressure is higher than this. Am i tee off in the wrong place?

Do you have your engine mounted as high as possible on the jackplate?

Yeah. On the mounting holes, it's at the highest. On the jackplate with the tempest plus, it was the highest on my jackplate adjustment too.

5 3/4 is still too low and effecting both hole shot and top end in my opinion!!

I would sell the lower unit and buy a short shaft one!!

I don't think there is a spacer to remove on the 150. I boats.net has parts schematic for the lower units.
believe price wise you'll be better of selling and buying complete units!

Dang it. Its sold already. I haven't been on here lately and just now saw this. Will a 130 lower unit work on the 150?
