    Trolling motor batteries

I have a 36v 101lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor. I've been hearing several schools of thought from size & type of batteries. From 27-31 size AGM included, lead acid to lithium, which btw is the biggest & most expensive. Wondering what everyone's thoughts are?

The bigger the better. Battery longevity has a lot to do with depth of discharge. The bigger the battery the less depth of discharge you get. Also AGM's have the benefit of better shock absorption, zero maintenance and no chance of spill. They are heavy and $$$ but worth it in my opinion.

This chart below shows how important getting the biggest battery with the most RC you can fit in your boat.

Thanks for the info & the reference chart. I'll see if there's any sales on batteries any time soon & prob go w/29 size AGM? There's not a lot of real-estate in the back of the Ranger so I'm limited to what I can cram back there.
