Power Pole mounting on Bass Tracker 190

If not mounting direct to the transom and using an adapter plate. Does the PP mount go between the engine mount and the transom or on the outside of the engine mount? If between the engine mount and transom wouldn't a shim be necessary on the opposite side?

Title says powerpole, text says talon . If you are yalking powerpole if you go with a sandwich mount it comes with the shim for the non bracket side to keep everything square..

My son has 2 sportsmans on his 190. We mounted brackets between motor and jack plate with extra bolts 6 total and used transom washers on jackplate to boats transom.
