Skeeter fx 20 came with a 52 in shaft on a 112 fourtrexx
with universal sonar. Way to long for shallow tidal river
and such. Can you cut it down to 45~48?
thanks.

You can have it cut down but the hole in the inner shaft will have to be routed out. Might be cheaper to buy a shorter shaft from Jones Trolling motor. Shafts are pretty cheap.
thanks for the replies. Sounds like a replacement shaft is the way to go.

If you put a shorter shaft on a 52" motor, the trolling motor will NOT ride correctly on the mount. The 52" mount is made for the longer shaft, meaning both the base and the arm is longer than the standard (42/45")mount. This will pull the trolling motor too far up the base when stowed and not ride correctly, especially if you pull it up to a shallow water setting.

Just curious. Did you get a cover and did it fit correctly? I just purchased a 2017 ZX250 and had 52" shaft mounted on it. and the custom cover does not fit correctly
