My talon just landed. Hopefully next couple weeks or so get it Mounted and have some pics. Going to try a direct mount to transom.. brackets hang talon out way too far.

Good luck! I know you saw my post with pics from my install bc you commented on it, so I'll just offer one word of advice: Make sure you can get to the inside of the transom where you plan to direct mount, and reinforce it if needed. I think those direct mounts are designed to bolt through the transom wood for strength.
Ya my thick reinforced flat part of transom should be wide enough..It looks like it will fit on that . I just have to move transom tie to jackplate.. Boat still covered. But be home soon

Talon fit perfect.. motor can't hit and didn't take up whole side of transom. Got all the bolts on meaty part of transom.
