    Wave height

At the classic they were saying 5' waves. I don't see any pic with anything over 2'. Now I see why some say they run in 5 footers.

Hang in there Cliff, Ryan and Hack.

Not sure about the classic but I crossed lake pontchartrain yesterday and I believe that was the roughest I've ever seen any lake. Pretty sure that was some true 4 footers in there.

Not many people have ever seen legit 5 footers, go in the gulf.. The 5 footers will be 20' apart and have 2-3s on top of them

If they are in 5 footers, they must all be running Skeeters.

Still-Water Line - The level of the sea surface if it were perfectly calm and flat.
Crest - The highest point on the wave above the still-water line.
Trough - The lowest point on the wave below the still-water line.
Wave Height - The vertical distance between crest and trough.

My uncle was taking a house boat down to port eads in the 80s across pontchatrain and down the river but when they were crossing pontchatrain a big storm blew up and he said he wasnt sure they were gunna get outta there alive. Had both doors on the boat open and water was just rushing through the front door and out the back were also towing a john boat and he said it would disappear in the trough of the waves. Luckily the coast guard got to um and were able to get them into a port safely.

I've been in true 5' in my bass boat in Ponchatrain. About ran out of fuel, lost the rub rail and was close to sinking. No fun

If they weren't 5 they were every bit of 4. That lake gets nasty in a hurry.

I remember coming back to the ramp at the end of a tournament, and everyone saying how rough it was, big 3-4 footers.
    More like 1-2 foot chop!

My sonar bracket fell victim to Toledo Bend waves last week. It cracked off and fell in my lap.

I've NEVER been sea/motion/air sick or even had any nausea due to rough rides in my entire life but a couple of years ago I went trolling in Dominican Republic and there were 10 - 12 foot waves once we left the bay and within 5 minutes every guy that was there was barfing their brains out and I was laughing along with the deck hands at these guys. Amateurs... I don't know if it was the motion of slowly climbing and falling down the sides of those waves but another 25 minutes later and I joined in with chumming the waters with breakfast. I clung to the edge of the boat for another 3 hours and by the time I got back to my hotel room, I felt like I had been beaten by an army of 18 wheelers. Fell asleep and woke up 8 hours later sick as a dog with a cold and ruined the rest of my vacation.

My stomach still turns when I see ads for sea charters
