Spray on bed liner for a keel guard?

Local guy says it absolutely will stick and he can make it up to 3/16" thick. Can even choose smooth or rough finish. Reason I ask is that on my triton, a hambys or other brand doesn't stay stuck t0wards the back because I need it to spread out towards the back of the guard. He says he'd do it for $150. Your thoughts?

I was a franchisee for a major Spray-on Bedliner Company. It will work and it will stick if prepped properly. There is A LOT of prep work to be done to make sure there won't be any over spray on the boat or the trailer. We used to do the whole bottom on river float boats and I never had to repair one.

I haven't picked it up yet from the dealer but he showed me another one when I was there. The one he showed me was 2 years old and showed no sign of wear.

That's a lot of prep and hard to reach spot, for $150. Be careful and get details. Ask to see one he has done.

I have it on my 17 z519 and it's the only thing not damaged hitting a shoal.
Have bottom being fixed now and lower end was replaced.

I feel that the soft thickness of a hambys helps protect. Beached on the ramp for 2 hours not letting anyone use it I feel the softness helps hold the weight without it bouncing, I feel that the gelcoat/glass could be damaged underneath the spray on and you wouldn't know. Aluminum boat, I'd do the whole running surface!

I had a keel guard made by Linex, on my '09 CougarFTD. They call it Keelx. It was, in my opinion, much better than a Hamby's. It was thicker than a Hamby's. I had the boat for 6 years and never a hint of it peeling off. Unlike the Hamby's on my current boat. Just a note, it was the same price as a Hamby's.

Well a gorilla hill is warrantied for life and he said that this coating is very similar. As far as over spray, he has a lift system that can pick the boat up. I'm doing it.

Someone posted this on tinboats forum awhile ago. They had the bottom surface done. The boat became uncontrollable, darting left and right. The running surface had become jagged and uneven by putting Bedliner on it.
