    Exclamation Another UPS rant

I ordered some stuff from Cabelas, it took them the normal two days to fill order and ship UPS ground, UPS in turn delivers it to a post office 8 miles from me, then the next day that PO delivers it to my post office but instead of my PO delivering it to the house, they just put a card in the mailbox that said I needed to come pick it up. This was a box no bigger than a loaf of bread, no wonder they are disliked so much, what a world.......

I think your rant needs to be a Cabela's & USPS rant, don't you give Christmas cookies to your mail person? That method of shipping was picked by the product seller which would be Cabela's, SurePost is that level of service offered by UPS, it's cheap and it takes 5-8 business days for most deliveries.

You want cheap shipping, there it is. UPS fulfilled it's promise. The rest was on the Postal Service.

[QUOTE=Mark Perry;8254467]How did Cabelas screw him?[/cabellas shiped it surepost to the post office. If I'm not mistaken the company you buy from makes that decision.

If I'm not mistaken again he could have paid a little more and the mailman would have delivered it. Pay a little more and the ups guy would have delivered it. Cheapest way for the post office to get goods from one location to another, work a deal with ups.

Well, it seems to me they could bring it 8 more miles like every other shipment I get from them, otherwise why do we need them

UPS does the same thing here so I specify FedEx. The biggest problem is our post offices is 20 miles away and only open 4 hrs a day, so it's hard for to commute 60 miles to work then get back to my PO before noon.

Actually USPS was the middleman, once UPS found out they could make more paying postage and charging their normal rate USPS carries a lot more packages.
