    Compact and hdsi

Could I use this to run my helix compact transducer and my hdsi transducer together or would they have to both be hdsi

AS SIDB Y Side Imaging Splitter Cable

Y Cable - Side Imaging and Dual Beam - allows you to use two transducers on one unit without the use of a transducer switch. For use with Side Imaging products only, in conjunction with a dual beam transducer only. For improved high speed performance for bottom tracking.

Technically you can use two SI transducers connected to a unit with the AS SIDB Y cable. The Y cable is electrical connections.

What you would get is the 83/200 kHz crystal in one of them disconnected and the 83/200 kHz crystal in the other one connected.
The one that got the disconnected 2D crystal would provide SI/DI/Temp and the other just 2D sonar.

No would not have two sources for the same technology.

Whether they are compact SI or HDSI makes no difference, they have the exact same connections.

What would I chose as transducer type compact or hdsi. What I'm going to try and do is hook my compact transducer back up so I can get a bottom reading.

If you plugged the cSI into the Dual Beam side of the splitter and the HDSI to the SI leg, you'd leave the XDCR choice as HDSI - provided you have both mounted.

You choose Compact SI if you only want 455 kHz Imaging, you choose Hi-def Sidescan if you want 455 kHz and 800 kHz Imaging. That is the only difference in the settings.

Thanks guys guess I better order me a cable. Didn't realize one side of the splitter was dual beam and one was hd. Should work to get my my bottom reading back with the csi and still be able to use the hdsi to get better si .
Do you know if the cable is marked for which is which?

No one side if the cable is imaging/temp and the other side is 2D.

You can use the AS SIDB Y cable with a DI transducer also to split off the 2D to another 2D transducer.

    Yes they are marked.

So I would want the imaging and temp on the hdsi side correct. Can the transducer s be next to each other or should they be on opposite sides of the boat. No prop wash I have a jet

Ck out this link . It shows that the one connection is for a 2d transducer only. This won't work for the 2 helix 9 transducers correct as the both have the same ends that plug in to the unit. Is that correct

BOTH the cSI and the HDSI have a 2D element. (that is what the splitter separates)

Just looked at the pin set up on Amazon it looks nothing like the YouTube one. The one on Amazon looks like it would work. Getting confused now. Do either of you guys run one of these cables

All of the core until connectors are "7pin connectors" ...

Some have pins missing, some have pins of no use ...

It's the wires inside the cable that decide which data actually gets directed to which pins ...

Thanks Bob and Wayne. Bear with me. Just ordered the splitter. Can the transducers be next to each other or do they need to be on opposite sides of the motor. Many thanks again. John

If they are next to each other - one will block SI transmission to the side it is near.

The 2D one should probably be lower than the SI XDCR used, as well as not right next to the other.

A transducer mounting board is recommended because you may need to move (them) for fine tuning.

(If you're referring to me as "Bob")....

would be nice if they would allow us to run 2 transducers without a y cable. ive gotten really used to be able to switch back and forth
