I just picked one up used and I can't seem to change the date. I can change the time but the date just stay at 2015. Also when I pull up the map it's saying I'm in Florida. I even plug a gps to it and it's still the same. I just updated the unit to 3.0. It was like this before I even update the unit.

Florida is the Default location for Simulator. When the unit gets a satellite lock in Normal, your location will be in the middle of the Chart View.
The time and date of the Simulator recording is what you are seeing.

The time and date will be set when you get a satellite lock.

This. Set your time zone correctly on initial setup and you'll have no issues.
