I'll say this: I was thinking about buying one and emailed them about putting a rubber or coated bag in it because I didn't want to deal with treble hook tangles. I received a response from someone who basically said "I don't think you can do that, but I'll forward it on to (someone) and he'll be in touch." When he never got in touch, I decided I didn't need the net any more than they needed to answer my questions. That being said, it did seem like it was possible to change out the net, just that a coated net would prevent the sliding mechanism from working properly.

well they sell a replacement net for this model which I got and never got any response from frabil , good for storage in the boat but man that net gets tangled bad when you use top water, jerkbaits , cranks , and need to cut sometimes to get hooks out ,

The rubber net I have is so heavy when you have a 4lb fish in it the wife has a problem lifting it so I went back to the old style net and like it much better. The rubber one was nice for not tangling but a joke when it came to lifting with a fish in it.

Haven't replaced mine (it's an original pre-Frabill) but have added small zip-ties in places to tighten it up - Might try that?
