Update for Helix G2 Mega units now Available

Just downloaded but haven't installed yet. Checked my Humminbird info page on my account and download was posted.

The Helix 12 CHIRP SI GPS got an update also 1.400. So far it is a dud.
First two times I inserted the memory card, the unit shut down when using Simulator trying both card readers.
I copied the file to another memory card and it did the same.
Next few times in Normal with a transducer connected, it just ignored the card.

Deleted the download, did it again, and the unit still ignores the software in Normal or Simulator.

I did the Default Setting before attempting the install.

The 1.400 file size is almost 20,000 less KB than 1.350.

i down loaded helix mega helix 10 g1 helix 5g2 and helix 7g2 i am going to wait before installing any of them wayne keep me posted what is going on with yours. called humminbird they said even though the down loads all were 1.40 still had to have separate down load for each unit, so i am holding on all four until i here they are working.

When I checked for the Helix 10 SI/GPS (G1), it shows 63.8MB on the update. I think I'll wait before doing an update on the HELIX12 CHIRP model for now. And yet again I received no update notice from Humminbird. Thanks to this forum for the heads-up notices.

You won't have the same software I do. Yours may be OK.

Update, I got another version that is 65,645 KB and looks very good so far. Installed with no issues.

I checked a few things that were "glitchy" with 1.350 and they are OK. I'll test on the water tomorrow.

Do you know if they fixed the issue where the right side of the si view on a combo view screen is overtaken by the down imagining with the sharpness turned on low med or high? Called humminbird an hour ago and she was not sure and was going to test that on one of their units. Will report back when I hear if no one chimes in.....

Thanks Wayne, when updating my helix 9 mega g2n si gps, can I do it in simulator mode? Should I do it in normal mode and turn off the sonar so it's not pinging in the garage or start up in normal mode and just disconnect the transducer connection from the head unit?

Simulator is fine. IF you must do it in Normal, the instructions would state that.

Some ONIX software versions were like that.

I updated my (gen1) H12SI using the Simulator today, and found the radar view won't stay hidden (still)..

The noise filter menu has been restored - a bunch of fixes listed ~ so some time on the water will tell.

I flashed my 12SI machine Y/D and it fixed quite a few things, Wayne is OTW testing right now I think.

Nice that you found one!
