Salamonie/Mississenwa get together

Due to unfortunate circumstances, neither I nor Tom Martin can attend the Patoka get-togethers because of scheduling and health reasons. We had such a good time a couple years back at the Salamonie one that I mentioned to him about the possibility of doing it informal get together this summer, and he agreed.
We're looking at June 9 + 10 and we would just stay at the Knights Inn in Wabash like we did before and fish either of the two Lakes listed on an informal basis. We're just looking to get together to have some fun and share some fellowship, not have a full-blown rally.
If you're interested, go ahead and post up here and I will look into contacting Knights Inn about availability of rooms for overnight or 2 nights whichever you'd like to do. They have a restaurant on the front that is very good, and that's what we did the last time for a dinner.
I just want to stress this is an informal get-together, more of Old Friends Gathering than an actual rally. Obviously we're going to fish, and if people want to throw some money together for a small fruit jar then so be it, but it's not mandatory.

I'll be happy to come fish. The diner has changed ownership, haven't been over there since the change, but hear tell it is still a good place to eat. I'll be happy to try and help folks find some fish, will be out at both lakes a good amount as I only live a few minutes from them.

Might have to take the 9th off work to get down there. Will not be able to do the 10th because of kids baseball games. Never been on Missy and have not been on Salamonie in five years or more. Would be fun to meet some people and put a face to the username.

I just contacted Knights Inn, and they do have plenty of availability of rooms for that weekend.. rooms with two full size beds are $70 plus tax. If you want a single with a full size bed it is 60 plus tax and a single king size is $70 plus tax. When you call, make sure you let them know that you would have a boat, and they will place you in the appropriate spot so that you have availability to plug in at one of the light poles.

That sounds like a good plan Brian. I know we'd be interested. Not sure where we would do that, but someplace around either Salamonie or Missy should work.

None of the ramps, at least none that I know of have grills. There are places for a bbq, but not really at the ramps. Usually back away from the ramps a good bit, so it is more of a pull the boats out deal. To me the best place is in the state forest, but that is more to do with the scenery.

Dora ramp at salamonie has a shelter which will have a grill or two. Most of the ramps have something like that, but usually back away from the ramps a good bit. All of them will be take the boats out type places.
