I just scanned the zero lines card manual and it seems to say you have to 'RECORD' sonar data and ACL does contour.

    Yeah, that's right.

When you run ACL, it takes the same exact sonar data you would RECORD to a blank SD Card and is then used to make maps in AC PC or AC Pro PC .
Then you'd have to bring that data in and convert recorded sonar logs to LakeMaster compatible data which displays the contour lines - except it (ACL) takes the "recorded sonar data" and converts in internally on the fly to the same contour line data that you see as a LM contour map.

If you refer to the thread title "smart strike, autochart live, auto chart pro - how to get it all. " this is in reference to what the OP was interested in, not trying to confuse what ACL is compared to AC PC.
We're mapping HB style, it ain't rocket science....lol

Isn't that 3 cards, and doesn't the helix have only 2 slots? Is there a way to all at once use a lakemaster card, record acl, and take snapshot waypoints??
Humminbird says you can write stuff to your ZLC card. Doesn't mention snapshots but you can put a SD in later and dl those from memory.

Everything can be saved to the ZLC, as long as it is installed in the unit first.

NO, you can't - unless you are referring to ONIX / SOLIX...

Core / Helix models have no dedicated memory to save snap shots to; they write the data directly to SD Cards.
This is one reason for the changes.

You can write screen snaps shots, sonar recording and back up your way point libraries to the Zero Lines Card.

Be mindful they can and WILL fill up though.

If you use it for those functions, remember to remove recordings and snap shots as well as back up your WP's to the PC too.

The actual ACL files are rather small FWIW.
Thanks! That's cool that that is possible. That will be very helpful.

That statement in the specs just indicates the unit has a card reader/s. The next item in the specs states how many.
