    Chris Bailey Foil

For the guys who already installed this foil, how did you drill the two holes on the cavitation plate that are closest to the boat transom? I line up my drill and it looks like the drill has to be placed on a pretty severe angle to drill thru. I'm using a standard cordless dewalt drill if that matters? Thx. Steve

I should have added that on the two trouble holes, my drill is being thrown on an angle because of the bullet looking portion of the LU.

I might be wrong but if you have the first four holes drilled, can you not set the foil on top of the plate, line up the holes, mark the other two and then drill from the top?

Nope, just checked and that won't work either.

I removed my prop and did not have to have get out the right angle drill. You can also shorten your drill bit that may help.

If you drill the back 4 holes and temporarily mount the foil with those 4, you can use the holes on the front of foil to keep the drill bit from walking. You can also buy a right angle attachment that goes on any drill from sears but I haven't needed one yet to mount a foil.

You might also try drilling a pilot hole with a 1/8 or3/16 bit first
