    Powertech VMX 3R25

I am looking for a replacement for a YAMAHA Max Series 25 T1 15 1/8. As anyone tried a Powertech VMX3R25, The a replacement for the Powertech factory says this is the best replacement.

I ran one on my 19 ft Stratos with a 200HO DFI. It ran very well with good all around performance. My 26 Tempest was a little faster so I went with that.

I have a vmx3R25 on my zx250. 5800 RPMs and I'm running 69 by myself. Fastest I've seen was 70.2. good holeshot, but I feel as though the top end isn't where it should be for my boat. I'll trade ya for a 25T1 or 27T1 haha

I ordered a VMX 25 on Monday. It is the ported one I will use on a Z-21 Ranger w/ 250 HPDI. I will be happy with 70. I will be selling the T1. It has a ding on it that needs repair.

OK Got the prop and here are the results:
    2006 Ranger Z-21
    VMAX HPDI 250
    Powertech VMX3R25PCL200 15.25D
    prop shaft height 3 11/16
    Chris Bailey Foil
Full Gas Tanks and full Live Well
    one person in boat (230#)
    GPS Speed 67.1
    5500 RPM
    water temperature 70.5

This compares to my T1 almost exactly. If I run 1/2 tanks and empty live wells, RPM's go to 58 and speed goes to 70 on T1.

I do not run WOT often but try to run between 4000 and 4500 RPM. With the Powertech that keeps me from 50 to 55 MPH loaded like I referenced above. The hole shot is nearly the same as the T1, both pop me up quickly but this is because of the Chris Baily foil.

This will be my last update. Went out yesterday, slight chop on water. Got 69GPS at 5700 RPM. Two in boat. The one added thing I noticed is that the boat now has a higher bow lift. This means the prop has a greater rake angle. I think I can get over 70GPS with lighter load however that is not real important to me at this time. I like the prop!!!

The Yamaha tech at the Classic told me that their replacement for the T1 is the TXP. Has anyone ran one of these and how does it compare?
