    150 Mercury efi, lower unit bolts for removal

    150 mercury efi 1997

    Trying to drop my lower unit there is one bolt were you have to go through a hole to get to it, a socket wont fit in there, I know i'am probably overlooking something, or is there a special tool. Thanks Jeff

    I imagine you are talking about the rear bolt that is under the little cover that pops off. Try a thin wall socket. I think it is 1/2" if I remember right.

    Older Craftsman 12 point shallow socket will fit right in there (3/8" drive, chrome socket).
