Can someone educate me on engine temps?

I just ordered my Merc Monitor Level 1 from Rhonda yesterday and have a few questions about engine temp.

    1. On a cold start, at what engine temp should I be looking for before I can start going a little harder on the throttle to prevent a cold seize on the motor?
    2. What is considered normal temp when the engine is warmed up and running around the lake?
    3. What is considered high?

Motor serial number is in my signature below.

    Thanks,

Watch for the engine to reach at least 120 degrees AT IDLE before accelerating. If it doesn't get there, something is wrong.

On plane temps will vary immensely, depending on lake water temps. May be as low as the 60's, or up in the 130-140 range in really hot weather.

Overheat warning threshold varies from one calibration to another... in general, somewhere in the 150's is about as high as you should ever see (with the engine running).
