    1999 javelin renegade 19 inside transom cracks

    I have posted pictures of the transom cracks on the stratos/javelin forum.if you have any experience at this please take a minute and look at the pictures.i probably should have posted my comments and pictures here also but at the time I was having trouble with posting the pictures.thanks for looking and any comments.

    There has definitely been some movement on/near that transom to make those cracks.

    ThatJavelin transom is not all fiberglass.

    It's a " composite " transom, which back in '99 could have been various materials made from polyurethane compressed foam or other materials. The term composite was used like it was indestructible, but they had their own set of problems no different than wood/glass transoms ( which is a composite ).

    A bad stringer or knee brace could cause that type of cracking, the actual transom itself could be fine, but a stringer/knee brace attachment point could have been compromised resulting in some flexing which can cause the cracking.
