Personal best MPH---love that cold air!!!!

Was in a tournament this past sunday morning on the Ohio river. It was cold---27 degree air temp! I was by myself, half tank gas, medium tackle---mainly heavy stuff in passenger side rear compartment. I'd say balanced out pretty good. Hardly anything in the far front compartment
    No power poles.

Ran 79.6 going downriver with slight current. Ran 78.2 upriver against the current. Pretty awesome morning. Was a blast to drive! The water was calm, and I could take my hands off the wheel at 79.6----it felt great!

I am not a fan of fishing in 27 degrees, but running my boat at those speeds in the cold was very fun! Wish it would run that fast when its warm!

NICE! I know you bumped the trim one more time or tried to duck out of the wind to touch 80 haha!

I remember hitting 80 down stream in my 920 the first spring, what a trip. I know I had a 3 mph current but its cool to see those numbers on the GPS!

With those weather conditions and my guessing at RH and altitude ... engine calculator says you are performing at 108% - that means your 250hp was a 270hp! WOW! Not to mention the wind chill factor taking your nose off.

downriver current might mess your calculations. Do the math for both speeds. 78 upriver is more consistent with the average speed with no current. Cold----yes it was---but I was covered up well and didn't bother me.

Cold weather, helmet is your best friend. That is not really cold compared to fishing Dale Hollow. Sometimes 27 or low 30's might be the high for the day. Guys who fish with me in the winter make sure I don't take the second console out LOL.
    Outstanding runs Birdboatman.

    Thanks EdDavisKY

Believe it or not, no helmet. Never really liked Helmets, so I wear a Under armour fleece with a liner that keeps wind out. Then with hoods and goretex of my rainsuit, absolutely don't allow air through. Then, use a Merino Wool neck gaiter and it keeps all cold out. Then I wear a Typhoon brand Goggles that don't fog up.

Never got cold, no bare skin hit the air. All good!
