Will add needed wind protection, and ability to drift faster in windy conditions.

Need to warm your hands in cold weather, turn on said unit.

Will trade Mercury 250 Pro xs for 3 HDS 16 carbons.

The manufacturers seriously need to separate the monitor function from the brains so that new technologies can be incorporated without entirely new mounts, dash panels, etc.

There's absolutely no reason that the output of various devices can't be standardized to display on generic monitors.

They easliy could already do that... they wouldnt make nearly as much money...........

well maybe they could but it would take a re-vamp on how they currently market units and new technology.

That’s not a bad idea right there. You could buy an HDS-7 gen 3 and take the guts out and find a larger suitable weatherproof monitor to run the unit from. (if you could find a weatherproof monitor that is)
