Are there any companies out there making custom replacement dash panels and "top caps" for consoles? I can barely fit an 8 in mine. Not that I need a 16, but the trend certainly seems to be a single large MFD type display and getting rid of the individual engine gauges in favor of overlays. I'd need to have more room between the steering column and top of the dash to do that.

Haha! Just mount and hds 7 up from and wifi it to a 60" Samsung tv on the dash....lol this is getting nuts....I do however wifi my hds 7 to my iPad when I'm just looking around for a bigger screen and doing screen shots

One? No...there is $500 worth of new interstates in the boat I got now...and it don't the three units and the noise maker on the front...be easier to add another battery...I can deal with weight easier than I can justify that price for a battery..

It would increase the initial price, but might not be any worse than replacement of the entire units every 2-3 years over the life of the boat as technology advances. Of course, fisherman eagerly open their wallets for every upgrade, so there is little incentive for them to change their strategy.

Well for some its cheap. Dual 12s would cost a little more. So I can get 24 inches of screen spce for 1k more then a hds 16.
