1987 Skeeter Starfire 175

Hey guys! I figured I would start a thread specifically for my new boat. It's a 1987 Starfire 175. When I bought the boat, it didn't have a motor so I was able to check out the transom a lot easier. It's solid! The owner prior did nothing but take the Johnson 150 off and stripped the fish finders, so I found a '79 Johnson 100 to throw on it. As for the transom, I'm able to physically stand on it and there's no give there, so I think I'm okay. The paint is obviously not in its glory days, so I ordered some Pro Tec products to help out there. The new motor hasn't been mounted yet so I've got that to do as well. I have an original Johnson service manual to help out some. I'm going to keep the thread updated as I go, mainly, so I have something to look back on and can keep my thoughts clear as to what needs to be done and what's next to go.

She definitely needs a new helm and steering wheel! It has dual steering cables, so I'll be dropping back to one since I only have a 100 on it.

Can someone help me figure out why my pics aren't showing up? I've used a few different IMG tags but it's not working lol

Can someone help me with the picture issue? I've tried different tags too.

Also, there is a small circular looking thing in the very bottom of the bilge. It has an electrical wire coming from it and it's attached to the bundle of wires that also contains the wires for the bilge pump and aerators as well. Any idea? I would post a picture but I obviously can't figure that out.

Another question. When I bought the boat, the guy said the last motor was taken off. In the process of finding where the electrical connections for the key switch went to, I found the bundle of wires from the key switch were cut and tucked behind the switch panel on the starboard side rear. Any idea where to find what those wires should go to and what would be the best way to connect them to my existing new motor harness? Should I find a way to wire a connector up or solder the wires and then heat shrink on top of them?

Any advice would be helpful. I'm the only person working on it at the moment and I'm kind of getting overwhelmed with what I need to do in order. lol.
