    Lightbulb Skeeter compartment weather seals

Just wanted to pass along a really awesome tip I picked up while listening to Brandon Palaniuk a few weeks ago - might be helpful for others here. Ameriseal makes a top bulb weather seal that fits perfectly on the metal lip on all Skeeter compartments. When placed on this lip it will create a tight seal that keeps all water out, or when used on the livewells keeps the water in. I've had issue with water in my front tackle compartment in big water when taking on waves and had been looking for the right product for a while now. Was pretty excited when he mentioned that this was the perfect fit for the Skeeters. Here is a link - relatively inexpensive too.

I don't have seals on my 09 I class. 1 of the reasons I really like the skeeter. I hated having to replace that crap every few years.

    what year boat?

I have a 2010 I class. Water in the front compartment has been an issue which this takes care of. As long as you don't have mice this stuff lasts a long time - most companies use it. Just snaps on and off too so easy to replace if you tear it - but its pretty tough stuff. Preventing loss of water from the livewells in rough water is a big bonus too.

How many feet did you order and did it resolve the water issue? I saw his video and thought I would add to my ZX.

Would someone be able to post a link to his video? This will be a huge tip if it works. I have become so annoyed with water ingress onto my gear, and clothing. Nothing worse than fishing a cold rainy day, to get to the ramp, and change into cold, wet clothing!

It was a live video he did on FB - might still be on his page. However the video is rather long and this info is buried somewhere in the middle.

Very possible - once we loose all of our ice I can test it out.

I did this on my 2007 zx190. This type seal was on my 1992 BassCat Pll. I built a step for the Skeeter
and needed carpet, so I ordered carpet and seal from BassCat online store. I used the seal on the livewell lids only. Works great.

Did you you watch the video? Not only does he show the live Wells with it installed, he installs it on the rear hatch. Fast forward to the point mentioned.
