Helix 10 si not recognizing transducer

    Guys,

I've got a Helix 10 si/di at the console and a Helix 9 at the bow linked together. This weekend, my Helix 10 would not recognize either transducer (2d or si). When I disconnected the ethernet, it would recognize them...even after I reconnected the ethernet. Does anyone have any advice or experience regarding that? Thanks.

    Chris

Assuming both units have a connected transducer. Disconnect Ethernet and repower Helix 10. Reset defaults on Helix 10. If it doesn't recognize transducer, can be failed transducer or if using the y-cable can be a bad cable or connection.

I did all that this weekend, but had to do it two different times. I'd like to get a idea what the root cause is, so I can avoid an issue when it matters.

Also check selected sonar source & verify Sonar is ON (pwr button) for that unit.

All is working on head unit. I noticed some physical damage to si transduce which I didn't notice with my boat in the slip this weekend. After talking with Humminbird, we verified that the SI transducer is bad. Since the temp is read from the SI transducer, the head unit wasn't seeing any transducer. Thanks guys. On a side note, if I'm messing around with settings on my unit, does it hurt the si transducer if it runs out of the water?

Normally for short periods it usually causes no harm to run out of the water.

By the way, I had a pretty awesome experience with Humminbird tech support yesterday.
