My trim gage starts to go to full up just before the hallway point on the way up on my'98 201. What would cause this and is there anything I can do to correct it besides buying new parts? Its on a Merc 225 EFI if that helps.

That could be a few things. Bad gauge, bad trim positioning sensor, bad/broken ground strap at the motor...
Thanks, it's not bad right now so I might wait until I have it in the shop for something else.
Here is a link for a test procedure for trim gauges. You will need a volt/ohmmeter for the test. https://www.jamestowndistributors.co...t.do?docId=839
