not from anyone on bbc but yes, by maybe the best in the business. I think the result depends on the reel and more importantly the guy doing the work. The guy I use is so good the reel would come back better then new if he did nothing but clean and repair it (if needed).

My general finding is the tuning was a big help on older Shimano products but not much on the new high end Shimano (Met MGL). MGL better without even cleaning spool bearings then any reel I've had supertuned.

Never have super tuned a reel.
Cant cast good enough as it is, lol
As long as I can get the bait in the water, I'm good.

As David stated, it does depend on the reel. Some respond very well to a proper clean and bearing change, some dont respond as much. In the end, any reel will benefit from it though. I dont run a stock reel ever. I get them out of the box and they get torn down.

Plenty of decent guys out there, find one you like and stick to him. Ive got guys that have been sending me stuff for 6 years now, every offseason without fail.

Just did a Lews Magnesium reel and added some Hedghog BFS bearings to it. Cant wait to get it out on the water.

Bassman13 reel service. BBC sponsor. Great prices for super tuning. Very fast service, and done correctly.

This is the Phoenix boat forum. Not the reel repair/tuning forum.

Do some research. You can take the shields off your bearings and clean and oiled them and probably be just as good.
