    Fuel Leak

    E150GLENC

Fired up the motor for first time this year and discover a fuel leak. It's coming from where the fuel rail enters the carb. What do i need?

Just replaced mine I would replace all 12 be careful when removing the fuel rail can break easily also drop the motor pan to get to the lower part of the fuel rail easier those o rings aren't cheap I paid $60 for all 12 put a little grease on the o rings and fuel rail nipple it will slide the o rings on easier and go back into the carb easier

Thanks for the replies. Let me make sure I have this right...take out 3 screws and pull straight out to remove the fuel rail. Once it's off, put two o-rings, part #0335362, on each nipple. Slide nipple back in, put three screws back in and I should be good? Looks like it should be just that easy, but nothing is ever "just that easy" for me

Those rails are plastic......in the cold they can break easy.... Be careful and don't make it hard on yourself. And be sure to lubricate the new o rings before pushing them back in...

Yep it is that simple, www.boats.net has them for $3.52 ea., use some outboard oil to lube them prior to install.

I knew it, never just that easy. How do I drop the motor pan to get to the bottom screw?

Yes, drop the pan. On the right side of the pan you will find 2 bolts up front and 2 bolts on the back

It will NOT push back in easily with the new O-rings on it. Take your time and be gentle. It's tight...but it won't leak anymore.

I second this it was a little difficult to get the nipples back in with new o rings

Well, sometimes you learn the hard way. I ended up getting the bottom screw with a right angle screwdriver i bought from Harbor. It took some patience, but i got it. Got the o-rings swapped and everything put back together...No more fuel leak . Thanks a ton for everyone's assistance. There's nothing more rewarding than doing something yourself and saving some $$$

It was nothing that a few cold beers didn't fix.

    THIS IS AN OLD THREAD!!

I just ordered some of these O-rings. They have increased in price a bit. Maybe 40%. I got 15% off the $5.84 price. Still damn expensive.
