    USA What octane gas for a 2002 Yamaha. 225 hp 3.1 liter OX66 ?

    Can I run 87 octane or safer with 89-just got boat so figuring out all the little items with it. Thanks Guys!

    The OX is not as picky but I always ran the highest non ethanol pump fuel I could find in all my outboards. Your call. CJ

    I have a 2000 225 OX66, I use both 87 and 89, no issues.
