Mercury Racing board shorts.....for sale

I have a pair of Mercury racing shorts that I bought and have never worn because they are too big. Size large. my waist is a bit under 36 (yeah I know I'm getting flabby) I wish there was some sort of standard for sizing because I bought a pair of Mercury racing shorts a few years ago (no longer offered) and bought a medium size and they were a bit on the tight side in the waist.
