    2017 150ho G2 questions

    I am wondering what PSI I should be running at while at full throttle with this engine. I have P2P at around 4" running a 24" Raker HO to 5900 RPM at 35 PSI loaded. I am getting a mysterious exhaust temperature fault code from time to time but engine is not running hot at all. I would think I can raise engine some more as 35 PSI is pretty high but I cannot figure out this alarm I'm getting-it is code 136 for what its worth. It is going into the dealership next week when the lead mechanic gets back from mandatory training. Does anybody have any ideas?? Thank you!

    Some of the very first G2s, over two years ago now, had something replaced because they were throwing a temperature code, and they were running too cold, not too hot. If you are running in Illinois now, could that be your issue? If I was running my boat today, here, it would be too cold for me to see a code readout!

    Exhaust Temperature ABOVE limit
    X=S.A.F.E
    Engine
    Temperature
    1 second
    If RPM < 1500, limit is 122°F (50 °C); if RPM < 2500, limit ranges from 122 to 149°F (50 to 65 °C); if RPM < 3750, limit ranges from 149 to 194°F (65 to 90 °C); if RPM > 3750, limit is 194°F (90 °C). Engine limited to 1000 RPM. Check cooling system

    Raise the motor 1/2" and see if it persists.

    So you're saying that the fact that it's above its limit means that the engine is too low? I can tell you that the actual engine temperature is right around 100 degrees F while on plane (however it is cold right now). I also know that when I got the boat the dealer had it set on the third hole with the jackplate level, I have since had them drop it a hole and then raised the jackplate 1/2"- I got the code when I was up one hole too. The engine temperature has never been above 135 and that was when I was idling.

    No I'm thinking the exhaust relief may be submerged and not allowing all the exhaust to get out. Basing this on your WOT WP. As you can see from the description, If RPM < 1500, limit is 122°F (50 °C), and your comment " The engine temperature has never been above 135 and that was when I was idling". It could be very possible you are too low. Just a guess on my part.
