    2008 Z9...I Really Question People's Speeds LOL.

I have been in boats for 15 years and was in a skeeter a long time very easy to set it and forget it. now this boat I hear people saying from 69-76 that's a pretty large gap? 250 Pro XS @ 3 1/4" P2P 25 Fury 3 Blade @ 5800 RPM and 66 MPH is all she has with 2 people and a half a tank of fuel and a light load.

that's 15% prop slip which is not stupid high but not super efficient either...Any thoughts? I bought it used a few weeks ago. steering is tight for sure a WOT. plenty of PSI 18+

    Thoughts ???

Lift? Is the boat up and loose or stuck to the water?
Do you see water coming out the sides or not?
    Holeshot time?
You're not running in some crazy altitude are you?
Just looks from the numbers you're too high and slipping

I'm used to a skeeter with tons of lift this doesn't have much at all. I went up from the 3.5" to 3 1/4" and picked up 1 MPH. Just feels like a really heavy boat. Doesn't chine just tons of steering torque. Can't trim up any higher it's max and rooster is top of cowl. No altitude at all normal conditions and holeshot is about 5 seconds no blowout

How is the compression on the motor? Is the prop clean?

Yes prop looks really clean and motor has 125 last time serviced. Runs strong I swing it 5800 rpm and that's 15% slip which seems high to me?

If it's stuck to the water I'd be looking for more lift. My brain is telling me to drop it an inch and add some washers under trim pads for more positive trim angle.

Hmm ok I'll drop her back down and yes she feels very flat. Drop her 1/2" and see what happens

Fury's don't like to lift like a tempest does, my bet is a tempest worked by josh at Steve's custom props or at marks would get you what you are looking for

I'd get your prop looked at because it's 20% not 15% and the motor too. Your rpm's should be closer to 6000 loaded light and 5850 loaded heavy ready to fish.

And not trying to stir anything, but the only reason I do not own a 2015 Z9 is because of how heavy it felt when I tested it. Felt as if I was driving my nana's 72 Cadillac. I had a 97 Nitro 896 Savage with a 200 that never felt like that. It may just be the rig not being what you are used to feeling under your butt.

Im out of trim so I can't turn anymore RPM's...that's loaded with 2 guys (500 lbs) half a tank of gas and tackle. Gonna try to get a tempest plus to tryout. I'm really not a speed freak like I used to be but 67 isn't what I hoped for lol

Have you tried raising the motor 1/4" at a time? That prop could be bent or the leading edge could be damaged so I'd try to find a known good prop to at least test.

He's already showing a lot of slip, he's too high for what he's got already.

I went up 1/4" already and gained 0-1 MPH and have same RPM but worse lift. I am gonna try to find a tempest to tryout.

Might could try some cheap trim extenders to gain more trim? If they help then you could get some wedges.

Mine will go 70 but I rarely go over 50. Not sure I understand the need to go that fast in a fishing boat.

    Hi neighbor
Where are you running over 60+ locally? DVL is 25mph
I used to live near LAX and run WOT at Casitas every weekend. Now moved to Murrieta and Casitas is to far - Going to cut my Casitas cable and learn Diamond Valley.
I am already missing Casitas - never a bad day there for me.

Nobody does 25 on DV in a bassboat they won't even stay on pad. Most everyone cruzes around 40 so we don't fall off pad lol.
