Starter Replacement HELP- 69L-81800-00 (2002 250 ox66 VX250TLRA) Suggestions?
Need to replace this starter. Whom has had to replace their starter and what brand have you had the best luck with?
Mine is the original Hitachi and they do not make them any more. I can get one from boats.net but it is close to $600. Seen replacements from $132-$200. I can get one from ARCO, which they said is a new Hitachi (OEM) fro $400.

Have you thought about having an auto electric shop take a look at it? Might just need new brushes.

yeah saw that one, I have done my due diligence regarding searches. That is why I asked the question. Have a local shop that can rebuild, but its timing, need it by this Friday and they can do it but parts are limited since it is only 15yrs old. So I will rebuild it and keep it as a spare though.
