    Steering Wheel Refurb

My steering wheel on the old Basscat had seen better days. So after a little Plasti-Dip, ALOT of paracord, and some time on a Friday night I'm happy with the results. The cord will be treated with Scotchguard and it is pulled so tightly that the grip is unreal. I've seen several salt guys running the paracord wrap wheels like this. In any event I have over 100' feet of paracord on the boat now for use in a tight spot if I need it.

I like the extra grip. It's pretty firm but it doesn't hurt my hands. That old steering wheel had gotten so slick I had to do something but I couldn't afford a new wheel. At least not a steering wheel I wanted.

Looks really nice! Livened up the old wheel 100x. I like the braiding or way you wrapped it. Very good job.

Thanks! I used half hitches around the outside of the wheel. The center part has cord weaved in between the spokes then locked off with half hitches. .

    ^^^^^^^^
I am unsure what type of wheel it is. It was just the wheel on the boat when I got it.
