So I gave up waterfowl hunting about 5-6 years ago after loosing abunch of ground to annexation. On top of that, I got into guiding and prostaff stuff. Bottom line, it just wasn't fun anymore. I sold 50 dozen full body decoys, big enclosed trailer, my boat, everything.
The new piece of property has huge potential for waterfowl hunting. I hired a dozer to come in and build a berm and will have a 2-3 acre wetland that I can fill anytime with irragation water. I have already started drawing up the two level 5 man pit that I will be building this summer.
I have been buying decoys again in preparation for the coming fall. I lay in bed at night and think about how I want the project to transpire.
Funny how something can re light the old flame.
Probably more then anything, I am looking forward to getting my little guy shooting ducks in the coming years.
