Hampton Roads area Looking for a test prop

Looking to borrow a 28 pitch prop. My Yamaha 250 has issues getting out of the hole. I have both a 25 pitch 3 blade, and 27 pitch 4 blade and initially starting out with either I get a spun prop sensation between 1500 and 1800 RPM, but once catches I have no other issues. I want to test a 28 pitch to see if I get a better shot. Thanks in advance and have a great day.

I would think you would want to go down in pitch to expect a better hole shot.

    This ^^

Higher pitch will decrease bottom end power.....and should increase top end. Less surface area of the blade is available to get a "bite" and get you up on pad faster.

Decreasing pitch for example going down to a 24 or 23 P, should get you on pad faster however, you may lose top end speed.

I have a 4 blade 26P on a 225 and if the ramp is too steep or there isn't enough trailer in the water......that prop won't even push the boat on the trailer.

I may not be understanding something, but I am losing "grip" between 1500 -1800 RPM, so wouldn't lowering pitch spin after sooner?

Too much prop ventilation. You didnt say what prop but if it has the PVS system you need to install smaller plugs.

If it is doing it with both props, you may have a transducer or water pick up throwing bubbles into the area at those speeds/rpms. Fold them up and secure them, and try again. Any damage to the lower unit that could cause turbulence getting to the prop?

It is for my Gambler. When I get boat back from MoterTech I will evaluate the last two suggestions. Thanks for the advice. The 25 does not have PVS, well maybe one hole. The other is a Croxton with several 1/2 holes. I am sure I have plugged them in past.

I use a stock T-1 27 pitch 3-blade on my Yammie 250 and I have no issues with hole shot, middle, or top end. I'm no prop expert by any means but maybe the 4-blade is causing the issue?
