    Fulton F2 Winch

Just curious. Currently have a Fulton brake winch rated for 1300 lbs. It's what came on my trailer. The strap is starting to look a little weak.

Want to upgrade to the F2. It's safe to assume the 1600 lb version is adequate considering the trailer came with a 1300 lb winch?

I see no issues with that assumption , knowing your boat is floating some it's not like it actually has 2000 pounds to winch. Just know if it's not coming you may have more power to twist the winch post or trailer. I have done that.

If the winch is fine, just replace the strap.

I thought about that. But for another $40 I can get a considerably better winch.

I just put the 1600# on my boat and it works really well. It's a nice upgrade over standard for sure.
