My kayak is a 12' Ascend Hybrid. I chose this because I wanted a fishing and water fowl hunting kayak. I like this because it is a site-in kayak so it can handle some light rapids. Ive used it on the Juanita River in PA and the Potomac River in MD. This kayak does everything I need when carrying decoys and all accessories needed when hunting. My friends call this the barge and they love how easy it is to use. I wouldn't want to paddle up stream too far in it but it drafts nicely. Its got lots of room for fishing and carrying enough for a weekend float trip. Best thing is that I can get a boat blind that's made by Redhead specifically made for this kayak.

I had a Cuda 12 and it was a great boat. Very stable and great fishing platform. A buddy wanted it so I sold it and got a Hobie Pro Angler. Its super stable and fishes great. I love the Mirage drive and almost hands free fishing. The only down fall I have with the Hobie is weight. We love to go in a lot of remote places and at 140 lbs its heavy. I've been thinking of adding a lighter one to my fleet. I've been looking at the Outback.

My new 2016 Ascend FS12T, because it fits what I need, and could not pass the deal up. $406 including tax at BPS!

    My priorities are

    stability
    comfortable seat
    easy to paddle

I'm on my third kayak, a Jackson Tripper 12. Not a popular model but it's 98% the same as a Jackson Kilroy. It's a hybrid kayak, cross between a canoe and a kayak. You sit lower in it, so it's more stable than a sit on top of the same width. And because it's narrower it paddles easier. And the ajackson seat is great.
